Custom Electronics Standoffs Machined to Your Exact Specifications

At SpacerMFG, we manufacture custom electronics standoffs for hardware developers, PCB designers, instrument manufacturers, and electronics OEMs. From our precision machining facility in Shenzhen, we produce turned and milled standoffs from your 2D drawings, 3D CAD files, and material requirements.

Whether you need lightweight aluminum hex standoffs for flight electronics, corrosion-resistant stainless steel standoffs for medical instrumentation, or brass threaded standoffs for high-volume circuit board assemblies, we build components for exact mechanical and electrical clearances.

Standard tolerance capability

Since 2013

Supporting engineering teams

10–300 mm

Available length range

Precision machined electronics standoffs

Built to print

Manufactured from your CAD files and engineering drawings.

Prototype to production

Flexible batches from 10 pieces to high-volume production.

Technical capabilities

Standoffs engineered for reliable PCB mounting

We specialize in precision CNC turning, automatic lathe machining, and secondary operations for complex standoff geometries. Every component is produced for dependable board mounting, component isolation, and enclosure spacing.

01

Female-Female

Internal threading on both ends for screw attachment from top and bottom plates or boards.

02

Male-Female

External thread on one end and internal thread on the other for stacking printed circuit boards.

03

Male-Male

Dual external threads designed for direct panel mounting and captive hardware setups.

04

Clearance Sleeves

Unthreaded internal bores allow pass-through bolts or pins to align structural boards without thread engagement.

05

Swage & Knurled

Diamond or straight knurling supports press-fit, anti-rotation installation into sheet metal or molded housings.

06

Stepped & Hexagonal

Choose hex bodies for wrench torque, round profiles for tight enclosures, or stepped shoulders for precise board seating.

Manufacturing specifications

Material and dimensional flexibility

We maintain strict quality control across raw material selection, thread pitch verification, and dimensional tolerances to support seamless assembly into electronic devices.

Finishing options

Post-processing for electrical and environmental demands

Electronic assemblies may require insulation, corrosion resistance, EMI shielding conductivity, or consistent visual identification. Select a finish that matches your application.

Anodizing

Type II and Type III hardcoat in clear, black, and custom colors for aluminum insulation and surface protection.

Electroless Nickel

Uniform thickness across internal threads with excellent wear resistance for steel and brass parts.

Gold & Silver Plating

Low-resistance electrical contact surfaces for brass or copper standoffs used in RF grounding paths.

Passivation

Removes surface iron contamination from stainless steel and helps prevent oxidation in medical or marine electronics.

Black Oxide

Low-reflectivity protection for visual light instruments and internal optical chassis components.

Laser Marking

Part numbers, batch codes, and alignment markers etched directly onto the standoff body.

Engineering guidance

Key considerations when specifying standoffs

The right material, thread design, and geometry can prevent PCB stress, thread stripping, and electrical grounding issues during assembly and operation.

01. Electrical conductivity vs. isolation

Conductive standoffs: Brass, aluminum, and stainless steel can establish ground paths between the PCB and metal chassis for ESD dissipation and EMI shielding.

Insulating standoffs: Delrin (POM), Nylon, and PEEK isolate circuits to help prevent shorts in dense board layouts.

02. Thread engagement and torque limits

Under-engaged threads in soft materials such as 6061 aluminum can strip during automated torque assembly. Specify sufficient thread depth or consider brass or 303 stainless steel for higher insertion torque.

03. Thermal performance

In high-heat applications such as power converters and LED driver units, aluminum standoffs can conduct heat away from board components toward the metal outer housing.

Why SpacerMFG

A manufacturing partner for prototypes and production

Since 2013, SpacerMFG has supported engineering teams from initial prototype runs through long-term manufacturing production.

Built to print

Every standoff is turned and milled to match your CAD files and print specifications rather than an off-the-shelf catalog dimension.

Thread accuracy

Calibrated Go/No-Go thread gages and optical comparators help prevent thread binding and loose fits.

Material certification

Mill test reports and RoHS / REACH compliance documentation are available upon request.

Secondary milling

Cross-drilled holes, flat wrench slots, snap-ring grooves, and counterbores can be handled in a single setup.

RFQ process
